Dave attended the awards to accept a 'Godlike Genious' award, and Foo Fighters were due to play five songs at the end of the show. Dave however asked if he could play longer, and they ended up playing for one and three quarter hours.

The set was opened with 'Young Man Blues' with Roger Daltrey on vocals, having just given Dave the award.
