I'll Stick Around

The second single from Foo Fighters self titled release, this track was one of a few songs from the album that had not been written several years earlier. Instead, it was written and demoed for the first time in the summer of 1994. The track was given it's worldwide debut on local Seattle radio by producer Barrett Jones and at that time the track only had a placeholder symbol similar to Zildjian drums as its identifier according to Jones, the final title coming later.

After denying it for many years Dave Grohl finally admitted in a 2008 interview what most people had suspected since release - the track was written about and aimed at Courtney Love. In the music video for the song the original intention was for the band to be fighting off an effigy of Love, but was changed for the final edit to be a virus model instead.
