This was a special performance organized by Global Citizen celebrating the hope that vaccines were bringing people around the world in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first Foo Fighters performance to take place publicly with an in-person audience since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020. Tickets for the event were not sold to the public, instead offered for free to frontline and essential workers in the greater Los Angeles area. All of those given tickets had to prove they were vaccinated by April 18th, although safety measures were still followed inside the venue. The event took place on May 2nd, 2021 and was then simulcast on US television, radio and online via YouTube six days later. Brian Johnson of AC/DC joined the band to sing vocals on the cover of 'Back In Black'.
