The band were at the Ed Sullivan Theater for four consecutive days as the musical performers on The Late Show, performing covers of songs that influenced them in recording 'Sonic Highways'.

This was the third day and the band were joined by Tony Joe White for a cover of his song 'Polk Salad Annie'.

The performance was recorded in the afternoon and broadcast later in the evening.

The band also performed 'Miracle' specially for David Letterman during the taping. The performance was not broadcast in the show, instead posted to the official Letterman channel on YouTube.
