Them Crooked Vultures began life in secrecy, recording an entire album without anyone knowing. Recording took place over the first half of 2009 with action split between frontman Josh Homme’s own Pink Duck Studios and Chalice Studios in Los Angeles. Grohl recorded drums on all thirteen songs of their self-titled album as well as percussion and backing vocals.
