Back in 1996 Foo Fighters had recorded a track for an X-Files TV show companion soundtrack and that same year Dave Grohl also received a blink and you'll miss it cameo on the show. So, when news of an X-Files feature-length movie popped up a couple of years later it was no surprise that the band were again set to feature on the accompanying soundtrack release.
