Rami Jaffee is Foo Fighters’ longtime keyboardist, first joining the band as a guest musician during recording for their 2005 double album 'In Your Honor'. He was then part of an extended line-up when the band went on tour to support the acoustic side of the album in 2006. Already well known for his work with alt-rock group The Wallflowers, Rami quickly became a vital ingredient in Foo Fighters, helping the band evolve with the more diverse arrangements that emerged on albums such as Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.
Rami continued to contribute to Foo Fighters releases and was an ever present touring member from 2007 onwards. He was finally officially announced as a full-time, card-carrying Foo Fighter with the release of the album Concrete and Gold in 2017. Since then, his keys and synth work have been featured prominently in the band’s studio works, with tracks like ‘The Line’ and ‘Chasing Birds’ being prime examples of nuanced arrangements acting as anchors in the band’s present-day dynamics.
During his 'touring member' status Rami would usually only be present on stage during tracks which required his input but in later years, and in becoming a full member, he would be on stage throughout the live shows. This frequently leads to Dave Grohl joking asking Rami what he was playing during songs like 'Wattershed' and 'White Limo'.
Outside of Foo Fighters, Rami continues to be an active session musician and collaborator, along with being a co-owner of LA’s Fonogenic Studios.
