Bio
Norah Jones is a singer-songwriter and musician who has sold over 50 million records worldwide.
In 2004 she was approached by Dave Grohl to guest on recording of Foo Fighters fifth studio album 'In Your Honor'. When she received the call she had hoped that the guest appearance might mean a chance to try her hand at something more "rock" but she was instead told her talents would be required on the softer, acoustic disc of the album.
The song Grohl had in mind for Jones was 'Virginia Moon', a track he had first demoed as far back as 1999 but something he never believed made much sense on a Foo Fighters album until this point. She and Grohl sang the vocals as a harmonising duet.
Grohl and Jones linked up again in 2012 when they duetted on the Paul McCartney song 'Maybe I'm Amazed' at the Kennedy Center Honors, performing in front of McCartney himself as an honouree.
2023 saw the pair come together once again as Grohl appeared on Jones' podast, 'Norah Jones Is Playing Along'. The premise of the podcast saw a guest playing some of their songs with Jones 'playing along'. The pair played on a number of songs including Foo Fighters 'Statues', 'Razor', and 'Virginia Moon' as well as Jones' 'Flame Twin'.
