Bio
Brian May is an English musician, songwriter, animal welfare activist and astrophysicist most well-known as a founding member of British rock band Queen. Brian has jammed and collaborated with Foo Fighters on numerous occasions, whether by himself or with fellow Queen Roger Taylor.
His first appearance with the band came in 1999, he and Roger joining the band for a cover of the Queen track 'Now I'm Here'. Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins inducted Queen into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and also joined them for a performance of 'Tie Your Mother Down', a track the band would favour on several future guest appearances with Brian and Roger.
Taylor, a huge fan of Queen, became close friends with Brian and In 2002 he invited him to join Foo Fighters at Conway Recording Studio during the troubled recording of their album 'One By One'. Hawkins admitted in later interviews he hoped May's presence would help ease tensions that were building during the process. Whilst at the studio May laid down a guitar track for the album track 'Tired Of You' as well as contributing to an unreleased track, 'Knucklehead'.
In 2019, Brian, Roger, and Taylor Hawkins reimagined Dennis Wilson’s song ‘Holy Man’ for a Record Store Day release, which Taylor had originally performed for a special release of Pacific Ocean Blue.
Brian, along with Roger, appeared at both Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts in 2022.
