Eddie Vedder is an American singer-songwriter, considered an iconic figure of the Seattle grunge music scene as the frontman of Pearl Jam and as guest vocalist on ‘Hunger Strike’ - duetting with Chris Cornell - with tribute supergroup Temple of the Dog (honoring Mother Love Bone’s Andrew Wood). In January 1995, Vedder had a nationally-syndicated radio show Self-Pollution and got his hands on a tape of Dave Grohl's demos from recording sessions at the Laundry Room in April 1993. Grohl gifted him a copy of the tape and Vedder played it on-air, giving the world the premiere of ‘Exhausted’ along with his cover of Angry Samoans’ ‘Gas Chamber’.
Foo Fighters’ first tour was with Mike Watt and Hovercraft, the experimental rock group featuring Vedder. Foo Fighters and Hovercraft would perform short, opening sets before they joined Watt as his backing band for his set. All three bands set across the US in a small, cramped van for what was playfully referred to as “The not too terribly hard twenty nine shows in forty two days North American Tour With Watt”.
