Jerry Harrison is best known as keyboardist and guitarist for new wave pioneers Talking Heads. He is also a producer and in 1998 he was the in-house producer at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, California. Foo Fighters arrived at the studio in the spring of that year to re-record the track 'Walking After You', for the soundtrack to the X-Files movie released that same year.
The original recording of the song featured only Dave Grohl on all instruments, so it was decided to re-do the song with the full band. Harrison watched over the session as producer and was also asked by Grohl to record Piano for the track, a request he duly obliged.
