As the newest and youngest member of Foo Fighters, Ilan took over the drum stool during a pivotal transitional moment for the band, taking over from Josh Freese shortly after his dismissal in 2025. Sharing history with Nine Inch Nails (Ilan was the band’s longest-serving drummer) he joined the line-up right about the time Foo Fighters began woodshedding their twelfth studio album Your Favorite Toy - first heard on the pre-release single ‘Asking For A Friend’.
Ilan’s integration into Foo Fighters reinvigorated them with high energy and a thunderous playing style.
A versatile musician, Ilan is also known for his work in Angels & Airwaves, and the frontman for his own solo project The New Regime. He can also boast about being a record-breaker, having played Woodstock at just 11 years old with the band F.o.N.
