Bio
Barrett Jones is a producer and recording engineer who founded Laundry Room Studio (LRS) in 1984 - the same year that he first met a teenage Dave Grohl and recorded one of his earliest bands, Freak Baby. Dave and Barrett would collaborate for over a decade, across multiple projects including Nirvana as well as almost all of Dave’s own musical experimentation, culminating in the recording of the debut self-titled Foo Fighters album in late 1994, which Barrett recorded and produced.
This history was featured prominently in the Seattle based episode of 'Sonic Highways', the TV docu-series which accompanied the album of the same name in 2014. Barrett invited Dave to the latest incarnation of the LRS and the pair were seen listening back to some of Dave's early demos.
Barrett has also performed live with Foo Fighters on a few occasions, coerced by Dave into singing lead vocals on a cover of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Communication Breakdown’ during their set at Bumbershoot in 1998 and playing guitar on the song 'Subterranean' at a show in 2014.
He was also part of the all-star band which helped Dave with a performance of his solo project 'PLAY' at the 2016 Warren Haynes Christmas Jam.
