Dave Catching is an American musician and studio owner who was a founding member of stoner rock bands Queens of the Stone Age and earthlings?. He was a touring member of the Eagles of Death Metal from 2004 to 2017. Dave owns Rancho de la Luna in Joshua Tree, CA.
Foo Fighters chose Rancho de la Luna as the location for the Los Angeles segment of their Sonic Highways album/docuseries project, although the studio is located two hours out of LA. The band recorded 'Outside' at the ranch, including recording a video out in the desert.
In 2015, during Foo Fighters show at Rock am Ring in Germany, Catching joined them for their cover of the Faces’ ‘Stay With Me’.
