Bio
Darrell Thorp is a producer, engineer, and mixer who has worked with the band in both studio sessions and special live events since Concrete and Gold. Darrell has worked with artists such as Beck, Radiohead, The White Stripes, Roger Waters, Slash, Foster The People, and The Church.
Darrell was nominated for an Emmy award for his work on the London Taylor Hawkins tribute concert, which was livestreamed and available as video-on-demand. Darrell also worked with Foo Fighters on the Dee Gees Hail Satin LP, and with Dave on the Dream Widow LP serving as a fictional band album accompanying the Foo Fighters’ movie Studio 666.
At the very end of Concrete and Gold, when left to play, Taylor Hawkins can be heard shouting, “Fuck you, Darrell!”. Taylor later clarified in an interview that it was due to Darrell plugging some equipment into the recording system whilst the band were still wearing their headphones, leading to a very loud sharp noise in their ears. Taylor did also note that he was "totally kidding" and joked that the next album would begin "Sorry Darrell".
