During the 2006 Acoustic tour Foo Fighters hired friend and former guest performer Petra Haden to play Violin as part of an extended eight piece band. After recording of their sixth studio album 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace' the band were keen to continue with an extended line-up for a mellower, acoustic section of the otherwise full rock set.
Haden was unavailable and so at the recommendation of Piano and Keyboardist Rami Jaffee, who had stayed on, the band hired Jessy Greene to join them. Her first appearance came during a day of performances for the BBC in Brighton, England. Greene would play Double bass for new song 'The Pretender' and Violin on other tracks.
Greene went out as touring member for the entire 2007-2008 touring schedule and also returned for sporadic appearances through the 'Greatest Hits' touring support in 2009.
In late 2010 Jessy was invited by the band to join them in the studio, recording violin on the track 'I Should Have Known', also guesting with the band on occasion during the 2011 tour, playing the same part as the record.
Jessy was once again at the studio with Foo Fighters in 2017, adding her violin to several tracks on their 'Concrete And Gold' record.
